Here at Cherry Valley Bordoodles, we raise our puppies according to Puppy Culture protocols. Puppy Culture has take most of the best puppy husbandry practices from over the last decades and formalized them into a systematic approach to developing fabulous dogs. The early development of puppies can determine whether you have a great, emotionally and mentally strong puppy, or a mediocre or worse puppy prone to fears ad unwanted behaviors. With Puppy Culture, specific developmental markers are tied to specific protocols. By doing the right things with our puppies at the right time, optimal results can be achieved.
Here are some of the Puppy Culture Protocols we employ here at Cherry Valley Bordoodles:
- Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) to enhace the developmet of strong nervous systems
- Barrier challenges to instill problem-solving and teach frustration tolerance
- Conditioned Emotional Responses to teach positive associations with important puppy skills such as crate training, grooming, veterinary handling, and manners
- Habituation to and desensitization of loud noises and new experieces, such as vaccum noises, law mower noises, roller suitcases, etc.
- Attention to People to teach a puppy to be confident enough to make eye contact with humans and to use this as a communication method.
We started learning about and implementing Puppy Culture Protocols in 2018. We are still learning and experimenting with specific exercises and experiences with our puppies. Our goal is to improve with every litter as we strive to develop the best family pets we possibly can.
